Diana Swain produced and hosted her own weekly program, The Investigators with Diana Swain, which aired on the main CBC network and its 24-hour cable news station, CBC News Network. Running from 2016 to 2019, the show delved into the process of journalism itself, exploring how top stories are uncovered and reported. 

Through interviews with fellow journalists and behind-the-scenes looks at major investigations, Swain provided viewers with a deeper understanding of the journalistic efforts behind the headlines. The program was well-received for its insightful approach to media and its transparency in discussing the challenges and ethics of investigative reporting.

CBC’s The Fifth Estate

From 2021 - 2023, Diana Swain was the Executive Producer of CBC’s The Fifth Estate. In her first season at the helm, the program won the Canadian Screen Award for Best News or Information Series. Diana had previously contributed to award-winning investigative journalism at the program over several years as an on-air reporter, solidifying her reputation as one of Canada's foremost investigative journalists.

CBC Olympic Host

Diana Swain’s voice is known worldwide from her work covering numerous Olympic Games. She was one of CBC’s key broadcast journalists in Beijing, China in 2008, Sochi, Russia in 2014 and Pyeongchang, Korea in 2018. Her reports provided nuanced perspective on the athletes, competitions, and broader societal impacts of these global events.

Diana Swain became known to Canadians as a frequent fill-in anchor on CBC's The National, in addition to her time anchoring local newscasts in Winnipeg and Toronto. BCIT Honorary Doctorate of Technology

Diana Swain graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 1987. In 2017, Diana received an honourary doctorate of technology from her alma mater.

The distinction is presented to individuals who are widely acknowledged for outstanding and sustained achievement in their area of expertise.

Diana was also honoured with an Alumni of the Year award from BCIT in 2006. Humber College gave her an honourary degree in 2010.
